Readmitted students who have declared a major:
Contact your major advisor as soon as you receive your acceptance letter. Your advisor will inform you when you can register for classes.
Readmitted students who have not declared a major:
Contact your previous advisor who works in the Academic Advising Center. If you advisor is no longer there, contact Laura.Sweeney@gallaudet.edu and ask for a new advisor. Your advisor will inform you when you can register for classes.
All Second Degree students:
Contact the department chairperson of your designated major. The chairperson will become your advisor or the chairperson will assign you a faculty advisor within that department. Your advisor will inform you when you can register for classes.
All Readmitted and Second Degree students:
- Check the course catalog for courses offered at Gallaudet University. Write down the classes you would like to take. Please check the pre-requisites to see if you meet all requirements for enrollment.
- Check the course schedules in your Bison account to see if the courses you want are available. Refer to the instructions below on how to perform a course search.
Instructions for Basic Class Search
To do a Basic Class Search for available courses and sections, you should visit http://bison.gallaudet.edu and follow these instructions:
- Click on the third tab, 'Course Catalog and Schedule'
- Click on 'Course Catalog and Schedule' hyperlink
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "View Schedule of Classes".
- Enter appropriate Term code (1063)and click on "Basic Search"
- Enter the Subject and Catalog Number of the course you would like to take, leaving the box "Open Classes only" checked.
- Click on "Search"
