And so...
...tonight will consist of attending a modest mustering of motley Gallaudetians for a merry, marauding midnight melee. Not bad for a self-created tongue twister, no? Maybe you gotta know how to work your tongue to create one of those, but hey, at least I tried.
Anyway... Things have been kind of nuts lately, with a thousand and one things on my rapidly expanding plate, as my "to-do" list grows and shrinks with an astonishing speed. As of right now, I have to
-edit one (1) paper
-take three (3) exams
-organize one (1) binder
-take one (1) quiz
and I'm DONE for the semester. The summer may commence with extreme rapidity!!!!
Whoo. The year went by like one crazy blur.... Highlights were definitely of getting my baby kittens in early November... they're about 8 months old now! Scary....
.....and of taking an amazing road trip with a good friend through the "best of California" (read: Yosemite's Cathedral forest; San Francisco's antiquated Haight and the vibrance of the Castro; Berkeley's liberal nature and greenery, Santa Cruz's surfing vibe, Monterey's amazing ocean views and long coastal drive, the kookiness of Canter's on Fairfax in L.A., pools, tanktops, sunglasses, and shorts on December 31st in Palm Springs, and too much more... it is the TRUE golden state.)

The majestic Golden Gate Bridge….West Coast, baby.

The sunset in Joshua Tree National Park… near Palm Desert.

Me viewing some really amazing squid at the Monterey Bay Aquarium… (read: calamari with lemon, dude!)

This is Laurie and I at Half-Dome in Yosemite….unbelievable in the winter!
AS a last minute decision (read: as of 30 minutes ago) I decided I missed California too much and needed to go home for a five day "dose" of home, before starting work and summer school.
I'll be taking two sessions of biology (ugh) under Sara Konkel, who has a funky haircut, so it shouldn't be too bad. After four years of an undergraduate education, I've learned one thing for real, and that's generally the more hip the teacher's coiffure is, the better the teacher is. This maxim applies to bald men too: if they do the comb over, stay away.
Anyway, here's a picture of my kittens to tide you over until next time.

P.S. Be cool, stay in school! After all, summer's almost here- long days of sunshine and getaways are soon at your fingertips. that's what i'm telling myself, even though i know it's a ridiculous little lie to mysef, it still works. Let's not even get into the psychology of that.
P.S. I'll be keeping up with this as much as I can through the summer, so I'll be seeing you.

hey-- I was surfing Gallaudet's website and I stumbled onto your blog. I'm currently studying Communication at RIT.. I was wondering if you enjoy the program at Gallaudet? What are your favorite courses and all that jazz?
By the way, I love the pics. Reminds me so much of home. Yup, I'm from Cali, born and raised in the bay area. :-D
Feel free to contact me anytime

Hi Megan!
Very nice to meet you.Hard to believe we are both from the same area and have yet to meet. You didn't go to Fremont, did you?
I like Gallaudet pretty well..I'm a communications studies major, and the profs in the department are awesome. Two of my favorite teachers are both Deaf, and both very strong role models, and I get an opportunity to have their presences in my life.
Steve Weiner is from NYC and graduated from Gallaudet... he always makes classes interesting and provoking. Jane Norman is another Gallaudet alumnus, and is an Emmy winning producer with a mouth on her :) she doesn't take any crap, but she's smart and a beautiful signer.
How do you like RIT?
Jane
