Selling out...

I'm officially a sell-out. The entire Gallaudet community has been raving for a while over Xanga or other similar weblogs, and I've been refusing to get a journal of my own.

But, here I am..... there's nothing I can do but move on :)

My name's Pia Marie Paulone, and..........

I'm a proud member of the class of 2007 here at Gallaudet. Currently, I call Clerc Hall home, but I also have a home in the 'Crossroads of America' -- Indiana. I have two parents, four siblings, two dogs, and too many cats to count. I'm a proud (possibly overly so) Italian-American citizen.

I consider myself a shopaholic (read: When I get bored at work, I surf the Internet, which is normal. BUT, when I run out of interesting sites to look at, I make a beeline for urbanoutfitters.com and click my way to no-cash heaven) AND a bookworm (read: Not even a 7 foot tall bookcase can contain the books I have here at Gallaudet, and there are more still at home).

I've got my PADI Advanced Open Water Diver's certification, which I got 2 years ago while I was still in high school. I haven't dived since then, which is depressing. I'm definitely planning on going diving this summer, though.

I'm a Biology major here at Gallaudet, which basically means I've got to take a whole lot of labs, which is actually pretty cool, and a computer programming class, which I detested. I got it over with last semester, thankfully. When I'm done with school, I want to be the Jane Goodall of coral reefs.

I'm a proud sister of the Phi Kappa Zeta sorority (LLPKZ), and we're hosting Euphoria this Friday night (which I absolutely can't wait to go to) at Club Daedalus, this awesome club in DC.

Oh yes, that reminds me.. I'm here in DC, which is basically the best place to be in if you're a poor college student like me. Chipotle - definitely the best way to get a full meal in for 6 bucks. All I gotta do is find a ride to Chinatown, and there's Chipotle right next to the MCI center.

I think that's enough about me. Now, on to the actual blog :)

I'm really bored. I've only got class from 9 to 10 am and from 4 to 530 on Mondays and Wednesdays. I do have two hours of work at the Visitors' Center, but that leaves me with 4 hours of spare time. I know I should really be productive and catch up on my Buff and Blue article, my chemistry lab report, or that presentation I need to do for Genetics class, but I just don't want to do it, so I'm just going to save that for later tonight. My roommate Kristina's boyfriend, Steve, is going to visit for a week, so they'll be occupied, to say the least. I won't have anyone to talk to, so it'll be a good way for me to go do my homework.

I'm still missing Australia terribly. The Deaflympics was an experience to remember. There aren't enough words to fully describe it. Now, it's been three weeks since I've gotten back, and my tan's slowly fading. I think that tan was what was keeping me going. Now that it's completely gone from my face, and disappearing from my arms, I feel empty. Maybe I should just get a full body tattoo making me permanently tan or something like that.. Hmmm....

Super Bowl Sunday, here I come! I definitely like the Eagles better, but I'm going to keep it in the AFC (read: Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning) and say that New England's going to win...

I'm still a bit disappointed over Manning's slipshod performance way back when.. Belichick's got his number, for sure. I've lost a bet over that game, and as a result, I've got to go to RIT this upcoming March to visit someone.

I'd better end this before it gets too long-winded. After all, I do want to be able to say something in my next entry! :)
