traversable wormholes require negative energy...
Some scientist dude once said that "The concept of negative energy arises in several areas of modern physics. The catch is that traversable wormholes require negative energy." Ok. Let's take it easy- this here ain't no physics lesson. It's more of a ruminating stream-of-consciousness discussion I'm having with myself, unless you respond, of course.
There's a lot of negative energy in the world, as you might know. The thing you gotta remember is that impermeable wormholes require positive energy. See, what we human beings perceive as gravity is actually the space-time distortion produced by positive energy or mass. So positive energy, oddly enough, weighs us down, while negative energy allows us to travel through time, freeing us from temporal constraints. See, negative energy can actually bend space time, creating traversable wormholes, warp drive and time machines.
Continuing with our mini physics lesson, negative energy could be channeled in such a way that perpetual-motion machines are created or black holes are destroyed. The problem that exists, however, is two-fold. First of all, because positive energy provides gravity, we accept the concept that positive energy is capable of weighing us down. By doing so, we have to question the definition of positive energy in a philosophical manner. We have to ask ourselves if an external force weighing ourselves toward the ground is actually positive energy. After all, when faced with the question of being buried alive or simply dissolving in the air, many people I know would prefer to simply dissolve in the air without the feeling of weight. Milan Kundera brought up the essential question in his The Unbearable Lightness of Being- whether it is better to live a heavy life full of burden, or a light life filled with deattached floating. So, if you want to consider this, positive energy is, in fact, negative energy and vice versa- it just depends on how you look at it.
Secondly, I forgot what my point was, exactly. Something to do with the idea that positive and negative energy are required in order for us to exist as human beings. You might say, sure, that makes sense- I don't have to take a stupid physics class to figure that all out, do I? My response is, well, no.
But you do need to understand that you can't have too much of either that it completely throws you out of whack. When you have such an overwhelming feeling of negative energy, you need to work on figuring out where the feeling is coming from. If it's coming from people, find out what you can do to make sure your relationship with these people changes for the better. See, yesterday was a so-so day for me. I say so-so, because I was somewhat overwhelmed by negative energy. But today has been, so far, an excellent day because I've had more positive energy flowing through it.
You gotta analyze the people you know and have relationships with and then figure out if it's positive or negative. If it's positive, by all means, continue whatever you're doing. But if it's, like, negative, then you gotta figure out whether it's a complete loss or can be converted into positive energy. See, everybody has relationships that suck sometimes, and sometimes they actually improve- but sometimes they just get worse. I feel like I'm being pedagogical here, but this is really something people often forget and they wonder why. That goes for me too- I forget this more than I remember it. In my previous entry, I talked about friends and how much they're a source of positive energy, but sometimes they're not really all that good for you.
I guess you gotta do what you gotta do, but you gotta make sure it's gonna get you somewhere where you don't hafta go through so-so days, and you'll have amazing days where everyone you talk with makes you feel good about yourself. Maybe you're asking where all of this comes from. It comes from me being here on the Gallaudet campus, doing various errands and meeting with people, and seeing the largest group of new students ever admitted invade Gallaudet with their idealistic attitudes and aspirations. To all those new freshmen: keep that! There's nothing wrong with idealism! Don't let the negative energy you do encounter overwhelm you. If you keep making friends and meeting people who care about you, and carry you through when times are tough, you'll be just fine. See you around campus this fall :)
