To get you off to a good start and before you begin your classes, the New Student Orientation (NSO) will introduce you to life on Gallaudet campus and ease your transition to college. You will get settled in your dorm room, meet your roommate and hall mates, discuss your class schedule with your academic advisor, and learn about the different aspects of campus life. NSO is required of all new freshmen, transfer, visiting and international students. If you are admitted to the Honors Program, you will also be required to attend an Honors NSO retreat at a camp near Washington, DC a few days before NSO. Parents of Honors students will be invited to a special family orientation the morning before Honors students depart by bus for the retreat. The other two orientation programs we offer are optional -- the New Signers Program and Family Orientation. Click on the links above for more information on these two programs.
